The Evolution of Technologies

One particular statement made question myself:
''I believe software quality is low because companies focus more on control than on innovation or quality. ''

While reading this part of the reading, I questionned myself: will evolution and innovation stop one day?? Can Ipods be smaller than that?? Can computer be more sophisticated than they are right now?? Can we reach a certain level innovation?? To me, it seams that this will stop one day. That we, humans, won't think of anything else to satisfy our own demand for technologies....
